College of Chemistry and Material Science was established in October, 2002. Nowadays, it consists of three departments, two centers, one institute and one key laboratory. They are Department of Applied Chemistry, Department of Material Chemistry, Department of Basic Chemistry, Demonstration Center for Chemical Experimental Teaching (provincial level), Analysis and Detecting Technology Center for Food Safety, Institute of Agrochemical Production of Shandong Agricultural University, and Key Laboratory of Shandong province “12th Five-Year Plan”. The college was granted to offer master degrees for one fist-class discipline, one second-class discipline (Applied Chemistry) and Chemical Engineering (professional master degree). The College has set up two undergraduate disciplines: Applied Chemistry and Material Chemistry. Among them, Applied Chemistry is awarded as the special undergraduate major of the university, and the key discipline of Shandong province “12th Five-Year Plan”.
